Texas Man’s Small Act Of Kindness For Elderly Woman Melts Heart

Great to see that some young people still show they were raised with a good moral upbringing.

A Texas man showed a simple act of kindness that has gone viral. He is truly an excellent example of how we should all act.

35-year-old Louis Jordan was photographed on April 27 in Houston holding an umbrella over an elderly woman who was waiting in the heat to be picked up by a paratransit service. Jordan was actually saving her from heat exhaustion, and literally could be saving her life. The image reportedly has been shared thousands of times since.

“I’ve been down and out myself,” Jordan told Fox 7 Austin. “It doesn’t take a lot. I just do what I can do.”

It is known that Texas heat is horrible and older folks dehydrate quickly. Jordan visits downtown Houston nearly every afternoon to pick up his mother as he noticed that the lift service has typically kept the woman waiting. He then got an umbrella which was in his car trunk and made a kind gesture! Maybe he is not a hero carrying a gun and knife…only an umbrella…but maybe it saved her life!!

His mother Vernette Botts took the picture of her son and a police officer that had come over to check on the situation.

Jordan told Fox 7 Austin that he lives his life inspired by God and the teachings of the church.

“I pray every day that God will allow me to be closer to him,” he said.

I am sure we can all agree that Vernette has raised a good son and man. We need more like him because only one kind act – can make a difference.

So, thank you, sir, for your kindness. An excellent example of how we should all act.
