Antonio Gutierrez a police officer in Reno, Nevada, celebrated one of the most anticipated American holidays in a most awesome way. For Halloween, he dressed up like controversial ex-NFL quarterback Colin Kaepernick. Gutierrez, wore a wig, fake nose and a sign that read, “Will stand for food.”
We must admit that he chose an effective and frankly a great way to slap back, EQUALLY, with the NFL’s kneeling, idiot! Awesome officer, awesome!! And the best of this all is that the officer didn’t disrespect our flag or our country!
Sadly, not everybody appreciates Gutierrez’s gesture. His boss was seriously furious about Gutierrez’s mask, even though he was off-duty. Officers don’t have the same 1st Amendment rights as Kaepernick and the rest of the kneelers.
Also, the University of Nevada, Reno Police Chief Adam Garcia scolded Gutierrez for mocking Kaepernick in a statement.
Garcia said: “For those who have seen the Halloween costume of one of our officers apparently mocking a citizen who has chosen to take advantage of his constitutional right to protest, I offer my sincere apologies.”
He added: “Members of our profession are held to a higher standard and denigrating another — on or off duty — is insensitive for its lack of respect and lack understanding on how others may negatively view their actions and may be impacted.”
Luckily, Gutierrez will not face disciplinary action for the costume.
Well, apparently EQUALITY isn’t a two-way street because this officers costume was inspired! Funny that police are held to a higher standard but players are not.
What pisses me off is that Kaepernick can disrespect our anthem and flag and some people are worried about him and his protest. He opened himself up to all sorts of ridicule when he took a knee. So why can’t an officer, who would lay down his life, even for Kaperdouche, protest his protest?
The bottom line is he’s got a right to dress up for Halloween…. Same as snowflakes have a right to be offended by everything in the entire world!
