Last Year Colorado Shooter Was Arrested For A Bomb Threat Against His Mother – Mysteriously “No Formal Charges Were Pursued” And The Case “Has Since Been Sealed”

Police have identified the suspect in Saturday night’s deadly attack on an LGBTQ nightclub in Colorado as Anderson Lee Aldrich, a 22-year-old with previous run-ins with the law.

Aldrich is accused of firing on patrons at Club Q in Colorado Springs, killing at least five and injuring at least 18. He had previously been arrested in June 2021 for making multiple bomb threats and refusing to surrender to police.

This man was previously responsible for bomb threats and was arrested with explosives and weapons in June of last year. Why was he out and how did he get access to an AR-15?

No formal charges were pursued in this case, which has since been sealed, according to the DA’s office.

The Gazette has more on the case from last year that creates a lot of mystery:

A 21-year-old man was arrested in connection to a bomb threat that forced residents in a Lorson Ranch neighborhood to evacuate from their homes for about three hours, the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office said. 

The man was arrested after deputies responded to a report of a bomb threat from the man’s mother, who said her son had made threats with a homemade bomb, several weapons, and ammunition, and that she didn’t know where he was, El Paso County Sheriff’s office spokeswoman Deborah Mynatt said in a press release.

Around 4:40 p.m., deputies evacuated an area encompassing a quarter-mile radius around the 6300 block of Pilgrimage Road, which was roughly a mile from the address they responded to, after they made contact with the man and he refused to comply with deputies’ orders.

Eventually, negotiators were able to get the man to come out of the house he was in, and deputies took him into custody.

The sheriff’s office said the man is accused of two counts of felony menacing and three counts of first-degree kidnapping.

The case being dismissed is shady for sure and needs to be investigated, but unfortunately, he/his lawyer probably just petitioned for it to be sealed.

And that’s as it may be, but it then asks the question – or at least alludes to it – of why there were no criminal charges even filed for a threat, let alone one which was entirely credible. Of course, we can make an educated guess…
