Charleston, SC – A heated confrontation at a Charleston town hall has conservatives rallying behind Rep. Nancy Mace (R-SC) after a trans activist, identified as Murray-Quick, grabbed a potted plant during a fiery exchange over Mace’s use of the term “tr**ny.” The moment, captured in a video shared by Mace on X (@RepNancyMace) and viewed over 1.5 million times, saw Mace quip, “That deep voice came out of nowhere 🤣,” as the activist’s tone shifted dramatically, prompting cheers from supporters and swift action from the six armed guards present.

Video:

The incident unfolded as Mace addressed public safety and her push for transgender bathroom restrictions, a stance she’s championed since introducing a December 2024 bill to ban transgender women from women’s facilities in federal buildings, targeting Rep.-elect Sarah McBride, per Reuters on December 11, 2024 []. Murray-Quick, wearing a yellow sundress, demanded an apology for the slur, but tensions escalated when he grabbed a plant, leading security to step in, as Mace noted on X []. Murray-Quick later told Daily Mail on April 22 [], “As a gay man in the South, I’ve had my fair share of hurtful insults,” claiming Mace told him to “f**k myself.”

Conservatives on X, like @MAGAForce2024, praised Mace’s resilience: “Nancy Mace didn’t back down—love how she called out that deep voice!” @PatriotPulse added, “This activist tried to intimidate her with a plant, but Mace stood her ground—six guards had her back!” The clash follows Mace’s December 2024 assault by James McIntyre, a foster care advocate she labeled a “pro-trans activist,” though charges were dropped in April 2025, per Daily Mail. Mace’s supporters see this as another example of her refusing to bow to what they call “woke intimidation.”

The viral moment, dubbed “explosive” by conservatives, underscores Mace’s unapologetic stance on transgender issues, aligning with her legislative efforts and resonating with her base. @America1stMAGA wrote, “Mace is a fighter—won’t let activists bully her into submission!” As the video continues to circulate, it’s clear Mace’s quip about the activist’s voice—and her handling of the plant-grabbing chaos—has solidified her as a conservative hero in this contentious debate.
