Biden Brags That The Unemployment Fell Down But The Numbers Reveal That 17 Of The Top 20 States For Recovering Jobs From The Pandemic Are Led By GOP Governors (Images)

The U.S. economy added back 531,000 jobs in October as hiring strengthened while the latest Covid wave receded. The unemployment rate fell to 4.6% and annual wage growth accelerated to 4.9%. All three headline numbers came in hotter than expected. Yet the jobs report sent the Dow Jones rising to a record high in early Friday stock market action.

Joe Biden said in a speech on Monday that Americans receiving unemployment benefits must either take a job that is “suitable” or lose their benefits, as he encouraged states to reinstate a pre-pandemic policy of requiring people to search for work.

“We’re going to make it clear that anyone collecting unemployment who is offered a suitable job must take the job or lose their unemployment benefits,” Biden said at the White House.
