VA Dems Tried to Corner Winsome Sears Over GOP Chat — She Turned Their GOTCHA Into a LEGENDARY Self-Own
Virginia Democrats just walked right into one of the most embarrassing political self-owns in recent memory — and Winsome Sears didn’t even have to break a sweat.
After demanding that Virginia GOP gubernatorial nominee Winsome Earle-Sears condemn a leaked Young Republicans group chat that allegedly contained racist language, Democrats thought they had her cornered. But in classic Sears fashion, she didn’t hesitate or deflect — she simply said, “Easy. They absolutely must step down.”
That’s it. One sentence, clean and direct. No excuses, no hesitation, no political double talk.
But then, Sears flipped the script — and the entire Democratic machine suddenly went silent. Sears called on her opponent, Democrat Abigail Spanberger, to hold her own running mate, Jay Jones, accountable for something far worse: messages from 2022 where he allegedly wished death on a political opponent and their children.
You read that right. Jones’s comments were openly vile — and yet Spanberger, when asked during last week’s gubernatorial debate if she still supports him, refused to answer. Not once. Not twice. Multiple times.

So while Democrats tried to smear Sears for something she had no part in, she showed them what real leadership looks like — accountability, consistency, and moral clarity. Spanberger, meanwhile, looked like every other hypocritical Democrat caught in a double standard — quick to lecture, but nowhere to be found when it’s time to clean up her own mess.
Even Governor Glenn Youngkin weighed in, backing Sears and calling out the left’s desperate hypocrisy. While Republicans are busy condemning wrongdoing, Democrats keep protecting their own no matter how low the bar sinks.
Winsome Sears once again showed why she’s one of the fiercest conservative leaders in America — fearless, sharp, and unwilling to play the left’s game. Virginia Democrats wanted a fight, and Sears just gave them one they’ll regret for a long time.
