Until the Democrats get a coherent message together they are exercising futility. However, Bernie Sanders who barely lost the Democratic primary to Hillary Clinton is open to the idea of a 2020 presidential run. Even though he’ll be almost 80 years old when 2020 rolls around, he is still not taking this possibility off the table.
Via Politico: “Bernie Sanders is taking steps to address longstanding political shortcomings that were exposed in 2016, ahead of another possible presidential bid in 2020.
From forging closer ties to the labor movement to shoring up his once-flimsy foreign policy credentials, the moves have provided the senator inroads into party power structures that largely shunned him in favor of Hillary Clinton last year. They’ve also empowered the progressive icon to harness his newfound political power and help Democrats fight President Donald Trump’s administration.
Sanders has been working closely with figures who are close to the party establishment he’s long railed against, like American Federation of Teachers President Randi Weingarten. And he’s been meeting with international affairs experts such as Bill Perry, a defense secretary in the administration of President Bill Clinton, around a series of speeches designed to define his international vision, one year after running a campaign heavy on domestic policy and light on the rest of the world.”
I am just confused…How can this idiot ever be president? He hates America and believes our economic systems unjust, and yet he created so much wealth and bought him several exclusive houses. So, why would anyone vote for a person who has proven even before the election they can be bought and have no integrity or courage to themselves or their base? Talk about a dangerous person to be in power.
But if he runs, he should pick Hillary as his running mate. That way many of us would have the unbelievable and unanticipated joy of voting to reject both of them at once!
