Ted Cruz Has a Good Guess as to When the Schumer Shutdown Is Likely to End, and Why (Video)

The Schumer Shutdown has dragged on for over a month now, kicking off on October 1, 2025, with no end in sight until the Senate votes Tuesday at the earliest. Funds for SNAP are drying up November 1, hitting 40 million Americans, and air travel’s feeling the pinch too. Secretary of Transportation Sean Duffy highlighted the chaos on X, noting how the shutdown’s crippling essential services.

Fox News’ Maria Bartiromo grilled Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) on Sunday Morning Futures, asking if government might reopen this week amid economic hits. Cruz, sharp as ever, predicted: “I think it’s likely to open Wednesday or Thursday of this week. The Democrats will wait until after Election Day because they think a shutdown is good for energizing the crazies in their party. But I think it will either be late this week or early next week.”

Cruz’s take makes sense—Dems seem to be milking this for base turnout, hoping to spin it as “fighting” Trump. Virginia, packed with federal workers, could be their play, but it might backfire. Republicans have gained approval since the shutdown started, and the American Federation of Government Employees is begging for a clean CR to reopen. If Dems think this juices their “crazies” for votes, they’re gambling big—especially with families hurting.

This whole mess screams Dem priorities: power over people. While they stall for political points, folks on SNAP scramble, and the economy suffers. It’s no surprise—their “leverage” talk from Clark and Coons shows they see suffering as a tool. Republicans have voted a dozen times to reopen; Dems block for pork and amnesty.

Voters, this is your wakeup—midterms loom; end the games.

So basically they think their base will REALLY hate Trump and that will translate into a bigger turnout? That’s a strategy of doing more of the same that got you in this pickle in the first place.
