North Korea has a reputation of behaving badly for decades. Knowing that the former President Obama was soft and was all talk but no action, the North Korean leader Kim Jong is taking some wrong steps apparently thinking that it will be the same with our new president Donald Trump. But what happens when Donald Trump proves to be all action?
These days, North Koren dictator Kim Jong Un keeps saying that his country is prepared to use nuclear weapons to strike the United States and its allies. What he doesn’t know is that our country is all prepared in case he tries to do something stupid.
Although North Korea regularly threatens America and its partners in Asia that they would use their nuclear weapons, the U.S. and its allies in the region are by no means unprepared for a North Korean nuclear attack.
If North Korea does, in fact, launch a missile multiple systems would go into action in an effort to destroy the missiles before they can reach any targets. The U.S. and South Korea both have preemptive strike plans for a situation in which a North Korean nuclear attack appears imminent, and while Japan is considering new options, it still relies heavily on U.S. defense.
The U.S. has ground-based midcourse defense systems, intended to intercept any incoming ballistic warheads while they are still in space. These systems have been placed in both Fort Greely, Alaska and Vandenberg Air Force Base, California.
BBC reported that the U.S. began the process of deploying a Terminal High Altitude Area Defense battery to South Korea known as THAAD- a defense mechanism employs kinetic energy to destroy short and medium-range ballistic missiles near the end of the missile’s flight, after North Korea fired four missiles into the Sea of Japan in early March 2017. THAAD has a range of more than 650,000 feet and can reach an altitude of more than 492,000 feet.
The U.S. and South Korea also have a joint response plan, Operations Plan (OPLAN). While the specifics for OPLAN 5015 are classified, it is suspected to call for preemptive strikes on the North’s essential military facilities and weapons, and possibly North Korean leadership.
Last year the former chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Mike Mullen said that the U.S. could move to “take out launch capabilities on the launchpad” if North Korea appeared poised to launch a nuclear-armed missile.
There is nothing to worry about! First, they have to develop a missile that doesn’t explode immediately after it’s launched, and even if they do that these defense systems can guarantee total protection.
American citizens can sleep peacefully at night! I have faith in our President that he will do what is necessary to protect America. How many knew the US had MOAB before it was dropped. The U.S. has lots of things in its arsenal that people do not know about except the people involved in using it. Trump will let military use anything it has.
