Supreme Court Backs Trump… Big Changes Are Underway For Illegal Immigrants

The appointment of Neil Gorsuch to fill the empty Supreme Court spot. Was a master class move and only time will tell how big help it would be in the future!

With the 9th circuit constantly trying to remove President Trump executing orders. Well, this is where it’s good to have the Supreme Court on your side!
Today the Supreme Court ruled in favor of America!

The U.S. Supreme Court ruled Tuesday that immigrants, even those with permanent legal status and asylum seekers, do not have the right to periodic bond hearings.

Justice Samuel Alito delivered the opinion of the court, joined by Chief Justice John Roberts and Justice Anthony Kennedy.

Justices Clarence Thomas and Neil Gorsuch joined most of Alito’s opinion, though they also wrote to say they do not believe the court had jurisdiction to hear the case.

In a rare move, Justice Stephen Breyer read part of his dissent in the courtroom during Tuesday’s proceedings. The justices only read their dissents from the bench when they mean to emphasize their disagreement with the majority.

Justices Ruth Bader Ginsburg and Sonia Sotomayor joined his opinion. Justice Elena Kagan was recused because she briefly participated in the case while serving in former President Barack Obama’s administration.

It’s a profound loss for those immigrants appealing what are sometimes indefinite detentions by the government. Many are held for long periods of time — on average, 13 months — after being picked up for things as minor as joyriding. Some are held even longer.

The ruling is a huge win for the Trump administration’s in their battle against illegal immigrants!

The decision reversed a Ninth Circuit ruling, and the court remanded it for the Ninth to reconsider the case.

The Obama administration appealed to the high court, insisting that Congress — not the courts — has the power to make immigration law and that the law allows the government to detain “criminal and terrorist aliens” as well as “aliens seeking admission to the United States.”

The Trump administration continued the case.

The administration also argued that detained immigrants should not be recognized as a class that could bring legal action. Lawyers for the Justice Department said detainees should rely on individual habeas corpus petitions to challenge their detentions.

In any case, this is a huge win for President Trump and we need to be proud of Neil Gorsuch!

The Supreme Court does not make laws. It interprets it. We have may laws against entering this country without Visa, work permits, etc. NOW must be the time to start enforcing them… If the dems won’t work with Pres Trump and the Republican controlled congress there is no other choice than to start deporting them

They are NOT detained for things such as joy riding as stated. They are detained for being here illegally. They should not be detained or get a hearing. If they are illegal they should be immediately deported. If they have been deported in the past they should be detained at gitmo for a few years. If the commit a violent crime they should be executed.
