Florida JROTC Cadet: ‘The Shooter Would Have Been Stopped If Coach Feis Had His Firearm At School’ (VIDEO)

Days after the shooting at Stoneman Douglas high school in which a deranged gunman killed and injured multiple people, a junior ROTC student Colton Haab is advocating both for gun control and bringing guns on campus.

Via Conservative Daily: “During the shooting, he and fellow cadet Zackary Walls herded kids into the safety of a classroom and covered students with the curtains, which were made of the bullet resistant material Kevlar.

He also devised a plan if the shooter was to enter the classroom and told Fox News’ “Fox & Friends” he prepared to use a fire extinguisher and two 2×4 pieces of wood as weapons.

They tipped two tables on their side so Zachary, who was armed with a 2×4, had cover.

“I was along the wall next to the door. So if that door had opened, my plan was to strike the individual,” he explained. “Another friend of mine … I gave him a fire extinguisher and said, ‘Spray that door. Just try to get as much as that fire extinguisher out,’ just so it kind of disorients [the shooter].”

Since the shooting, students have come out in droves to voice their support for more gun control and Haab agrees. However, he noted there’s an alternate solution to keep kids safe until America adopts better legislation. He said:

“I don’t think that we’re gonna get gun control in such a quick enough response. I do believe that if we brought firearms on campus — to teachers that are willing to carry their firearm on campus — if they got the correct training for it, I think that would be a big beneficial factor into school safety.”

Haab added that if assistant football coach Aaron Feis had his firearm at school “he could have most likely stopped the threat.”

This JROTC student is a credit to himself, his family, and ROTC. What quick and effective thinking. I agree with your statement. If the coach had a gun he could have stopped this massacre. Thanks again for your bravery to speak out! Would have saved many lives.

Thank you, Colton and your friend for protecting the other students.

Do you think teachers if properly trained and licensed, should be allowed to conceal carry at their workplace?
