In 1954 an amendment to the Immigration and Nationality Act forbids naturalization of anyone espousing communism. It says that if within 5 years of naturalization the applicant does so it is prima facie evidence of lying on his application. This guy denied being a communist on his application and two years later espoused communism. There is no way for him to defend that violation and his citizenship can be revoked.
