ICE Ignores California Laws And Arrests Illegal Immigrants At The Courthouse Door, Prompting Outcry From Local Officials

Politicians in California value the lives of illegal immigrants, drug dealers, criminals and gang members above those of hard-working taxpayers. No wonder the middle class is leaving the state in droves. Sadly, California is choking on its own insanity.

I know there are some good people in California! Make your case and vote them out. It’s not that hard.

Liberals opening our doors to criminals are “chumming” for votes while taking all innocent citizens down the toilet with them.

The sanctuary cities are a disgrace to the country! The full force of the DOJ should come down on them and cut off all federal funds to cities and states that want their own definition of ”following the law.” State officials who encourage these law breaking people to come to the state should be held accountable for violating their oath of office.

In 2018, California implemented the California Values Act, which limits local authorities’ ability to investigate illegal immigrants’ status and communicate with federal immigration officials.

It also gave special protection to illegal aliens by mandating that California law enforcement agencies cannot cooperate with federal immigration authorities. Last week, Immigration and Customs Enforcement (“ICE”) thumbed its nose at California and arrested two people in Sonoma County Superior Court.

From Courier-Journal:

SAN FRANCISCO — U.S. immigration agents arrested two people at a Northern California courthouse, including a man detained in a hallway on his way to a hearing, flouting a new state law requiring a judicial warrant to make immigration arrests inside such facilities.

Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents made the arrests Tuesday at Sonoma County Superior Court, prompting an outcry from criminal justice and court officials who said the action undermines local authority and deters immigrants who are in the country illegally from participating in the U.S. justice system.

ICE said California’s law doesn’t supersede federal law and “will not govern the conduct of federal officers acting pursuant to duly-enacted laws passed by Congress that provide the authority to make administrative arrests of removable aliens inside the United States.”

This is a nice move by ICE they should have done this a long time ago. The Act’s entire purpose is to use the agencies of the state to prevent ICE from gaining access to people illegally in California – including people who have committed crimes in California.

I think a good case could be made that California citizens ceded the right to redress wrongs committed by illegal aliens in a state court when their state government continues to ignore detainer requests from ICE. Apparently, the state government does not consider illegal aliens’ Federal crimes serious enough to allow prosecution of a crime committed prior to committing a crime against a citizen of the sanctuary state in question.

“When there’s a direct conflict between state laws and federal laws, federal laws prevail.” As it has always been. This rule of law holds true at all levels; State law prevails over municipal law and so on.

There is nothing outrageous about the federal government enforcing federal law. the States have the option of challenging the law in court suing for its amendment or striking from existence.

The issue today is not one of the legitimacy of enforcement of the law; it’s one of Leftist Democrat Communists choosing to ignore or rewrite law at their whim.

Please share this article wherever you can. It is the only way we can work around their censorship and ensure people receive news about issues that Democrats and the mainstream media suppress.
