Horrifying: Wife Installs Hidden Camera in Veteran Husband’s Montrose, NY Federal Facility Room — Footage Is Beyond Disgusting (Video)

A wife’s worst fears were confirmed after she secretly installed a hidden camera in her Gulf War veteran husband’s room at a federal facility in Montrose, New York. The footage is sickening.

Albert O’Toole served in the Gulf War. An explosion there left him with a traumatic brain injury. Years later, he was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s. His wife, Angela Sangro, placed him in the federally run facility hoping he would be safe and cared for. Instead, she watched his condition deteriorate rapidly — heavy medication, unexplained injuries, and a sharp decline that didn’t make sense.

Concerned, she put a camera in his room. What it captured is beyond disgusting.

**Graphic Video Warning: The following video contains disturbing and graphic content of physical abuse.**

The video shows longtime aide Matthew Cox abusing Albert in brutal fashion. He yanks food out of the veteran’s hands, violently lifts him by the neck, throws him into a chair, and punches him. In another moment, Cox strikes him in the head with a broom before forcibly shoving him back down. Albert can be heard crying out in pain.

Cox was arrested before the video was released. But he remains free and is still collecting a government paycheck while the legal process drags on. That’s right — a man caught on camera beating a helpless, disabled veteran is still getting paid by the federal government.

Our veterans risked everything for this country. They deserve dignity, safety, and real protection in their final years — not neglect, over-medication, and outright physical abuse inside facilities that are supposed to care for them.

What makes this even more infuriating is the contrast in priorities. Over the past year and a half, New York politicians and leaders have been quick to protest, post videos, issue statements, and personally visit facilities housing illegal immigrants. They’ve made it clear where their attention and energy go. Yet when it comes to veterans like Albert O’Toole — men who actually served this nation — the silence and inaction are deafening.

This isn’t just one bad apple. It’s a symptom of a broken system that too often treats our veterans as an afterthought. Hidden cameras shouldn’t be necessary for families to feel their loved ones are safe. But when they are, and the footage shows this level of cruelty, heads need to roll — starting with real accountability for the people running and staffing these facilities.

Albert O’Toole fought for his country. He shouldn’t have to fight for basic safety and respect in his own room.

Our veterans deserve better. Veterans first — always.
