Trump Drops Bombshell: Deep State “TERRIFIED” of Sharing Intelligence with Incoming Acting DNI Bill Pulte — “What Do They Have to Be Afraid Of?

President Trump is calling out what he sees as panic inside the intelligence community.

In a recent post, Trump confirmed that the Deep State is “terrified” of sharing intelligence information with incoming Acting Director of National Intelligence Bill Pulte. Trump directly asked the obvious question: “What do they have to be afraid of?” He added that Republicans are “moving too fast on nominations,” which appears to be rattling entrenched interests.

Trump named Pulte, currently the Director of the Federal Housing Finance Agency (FHFA), to serve as Acting DNI starting around June 19. He is stepping in temporarily after Tulsi Gabbard’s departure and will hold the role while also keeping his housing position. Trump has made clear this is not a permanent appointment — he is already considering other candidates for the full-time role.

Pulte has no traditional intelligence background. He comes from the housing finance world, where he has earned a reputation as an aggressive reformer. In his FHFA role, he has pursued criminal referrals and targeted what supporters describe as waste, fraud, and politically connected misconduct in the mortgage system. Critics on the left and in some establishment circles have accused him of weaponizing his position against Trump’s political opponents.

That track record is exactly why Trump allies see him as the right person to temporarily lead the Office of the Director of National Intelligence. The ODNI oversees the nation’s 18 intelligence agencies and has long been viewed by conservatives as bloated and resistant to reform. Trump has tasked Pulte with shrinking the office and rooting out what he calls “deep state bad actors.”

The pushback has been fierce. Democrats and some Republicans have criticized the choice, citing Pulte’s lack of national security experience. House Intelligence Committee Democrats even called for Trump to rescind the appointment. On the other side, Republican lawmakers like Sen. Jim Banks and Sen. Bernie Moreno have praised it, arguing that Pulte will “drain the Swamp” in the intelligence community and put America First.

Trump’s comment about the Deep State being “terrified” fits a larger pattern. Since returning to office, his administration has moved quickly on nominations and reforms aimed at increasing transparency and accountability across federal agencies — including the intelligence community. Previous efforts, such as declassifications and demands for oversight, have often met resistance from career officials and holdovers from prior administrations.

The intelligence bureaucracy has a history of slow-walking information, selective leaks, and institutional self-protection. Placing a known reformer — even temporarily — in the top spot appears to be triggering serious anxiety among those who prefer the status quo.

Trump’s question hangs in the air: If the intelligence community has nothing to hide and is simply doing its job professionally, why the panic over sharing information with an acting director who answers directly to the elected president?

This move is part of a broader effort to bring accountability to institutions that many Americans believe became politicized in recent years. Whether Pulte’s tenure is short or leads to bigger changes, the reaction from inside the system is telling.

The American people have a right to an intelligence community that serves the country — not one that operates as its own unaccountable power center. Trump is forcing that conversation into the open.
