EXPOSED: Left-Wing Activists Funded This Mansion for a Teen Murder Suspect — Family ‘Accidentally’ Reveals It in Photo

McKinney, TX – The family of 17-year-old Karmelo Anthony, accused of fatally stabbing Austin Metcalf at a Frisco track meet on April 2, 2025, has sparked outrage among conservatives after admitting in court that they used a portion of the $428,022 raised for his legal defense to buy a new home and hire private security. The revelation came during a bond hearing on April 14, where Judge Angela Tucker reduced Anthony’s bond from $1 million to $250,000, requiring only 10% to be paid for his release—a move that has conservatives on X, like @MAGAForce2024, fuming: “Left-wing activists are bankrolling a teen killer’s new house while Austin’s family grieves!”

Andrew Anthony, Karmelo’s father, disclosed during the hearing that the funds, collected via a GiveSendGo campaign, were not just for legal defense but also to relocate the family and secure private protection due to alleged “racist threats” after their address was leaked online, per a Daily Mail report on April 14 []. The threats reportedly included “graphic and racist” images of “black children with knives stuck in their head,” prompting the family to prioritize safety. Anthony’s attorney, Michael Howard, defended the decision, saying, “It would be disingenuous to say there isn’t money… But it is not a bond fund. This family needs to be able to survive.”

Karmelo, now on house arrest with an ankle monitor after posting bond on April 14, allegedly stabbed Metcalf in the chest after a confrontation at the District 11-5A track meet, per an ABC News report on April 8 []. Witnesses say Anthony, who brought a knife to the event, unzipped his bag, threatened Metcalf, and stabbed him after being asked to move from another school’s tent, then fled the scene, claiming self-defense: “He put his hands on me.” Metcalf died in his twin brother’s arms, and his family’s GoFundMe has raised $347,679—over $80,000 less than Anthony’s fund, a disparity that has conservatives like @PatriotPulse livid: “Anthony’s family gets a new home while Austin’s family mourns? Disgusting.”

The case has drawn comparisons to Kyle Rittenhouse, with @America1stMAGA noting, “Leftists cheered Rittenhouse’s acquittal but cry foul when Anthony’s family uses donations to survive—hypocrisy at its finest.” A 2025 Dallas News report on April 14 [] noted Anthony’s release conditions, but for conservatives, the misuse of funds is a betrayal. “He brought a knife to a track meet and killed a kid—now he’s living large off activist money?” wrote @JusticeForAll22. The revelation has turned a tragic case into a lightning rod, with conservatives demanding justice for Metcalf while slamming the left for enabling Anthony’s family.
