Remember when Sen. Susan Collins ripped her party for crafting its ObamaCare repeal bill behind closed doors! As a reminder, sixty-one percent of Maine citizens suggested that Sen. Collins voting against Obamacare repeal made them less likely to vote for Collins for governor. Only 24 percent said that it would make it more likely to vote for Collins.
Maybe this is the real reason why she won’t run for governor!
Shortly after she announced that she will not run for governor of Maine and will remain in the Senate.
Today she made another backstabbing move!
Senator Collins does not support the FCC’s recent decision to repeal net neutrality rules, and she will support Senator Markey’s legislation that would overturn the FCC’s vote,” a spokeswoman, Annie Clark, said in a statement to The Hill.
“She believes that a careful, deliberative process involving experts and the public is warranted to ensure that consumers have strong protections that guarantee consumer choice, free markets and continued growth.”
The move was first reported by the Bangor Daily News.
Assuming all Democrats are on board with the legislation, they will still need one more Republican in order for it to pass the Senate.
Just another career politician who knew she’d never win. Especially after obstructing health care reform. Collins no longer represents those who voted for her and she knows she wouldn’t win the Governor’s race due to that fact. She now represents people who openly disrespect our President.
