Breaking News! A Republican Congressman From Arizona Is Resigning From Congress Following Sexual Harassment Claim
It makes one wonder with all these resigning if they’re part of the swamp? And they want to get out before they get caught in their dealings of what they had done.
Arizona Congressman Trent Franks has announced his decision to resign from Congress, according to a statement he released Thursday on the matter.
Franks released a statement Thursday evening explaining that, while he never “physically intimidated, coerced, or had, or attempted to have, any sexual contact” with his congressional staff, he did make few women very uncomfortable. His last day in Congress will be January 31.
The House of Representatives Committee on Ethics had previously released a statement announcing an investigation into the congressman regarding possible sexual harassment.
“Pursuant to the Committee’s action, the Investigation Subcommittee shall have jurisdiction to determine whether Representative Trent Franks engaged in conduct that constitutes sexual harassment and/or retaliation for opposing sexual harassment, in violation of House Rules, law, regulations, or other standards of conduct,” the statement said.
Franks was first elected to Congress in 2002 and represents an overwhelmingly Republican district in Phoenix, Arizona. A special election will now be called by Arizona Republican Governor Doug Ducey.
Don’t care if you’re a Democrat or a Republican…you were voted in to do a job…a job by which you are paid by taxpayer money. You are paid to work for the good of the American people, not get your groove on in the basement of the Capitol!
